Freediving is essentially holding your breath whilst submerged in water.
You’ve probably already done some form of freediving – whether that was swimming a length underwater in your local pool, diving under the surface during snorkelling or just holding your breath in the bath.
By doing a course in freediving, this gives you the knowledge and skills to hold your breath longer and dive deeper.
There is something for everyone in freediving – whether that is discovering a new challenge; interacting with wildlife in a more natural way; cross training for other sports such as scuba, triathlon, fin swimming, surfing or just combatting everyday stresses through exploring relaxation.
Freediving is so much more than just holding your breath! Experience it for yourself today & discover your own freediving journey
Yes! Similarly to scuba diving, freediving is a safe sport, as long as you follow the basic safety guidance you receive on your course

Anyone over the age of 18 (16 with the permission of a parent or guardian) who doesn’t have a medical reason not to! You don’t have to be an elite athlete, an amazing swimmer or even be good at holding your breath!
Freediving is a very inclusive sport, with the emphasis on relaxation and positive experiences
Anyone.
The club welcomes enquiries from both divers and non-divers alike; from beginner to professional. If you want to freedive, we are here to help.
The club is particularly suited to anyone who holds a valid qualification from a recognised freediving training agency.
Those who have yet to experience the sport or would like to know more, get in touch & we can help you get started on your freediving journey.
Friends and family are also welcome to join the club as non-divers and get involved.

How is freediving different to snorkeling?
Snorkeling is where you put on a mask and a snorkel and you have a look below the surface of the water and anyone can do it without supervision.
Freediving uses advanced breathing techniques and trains your body to withstand different depths and times underwater. This sport takes alot of training and is vital that you are trained by a professional to ensure your health and wellbeing.
How long before I am fully trained?
We recommend completing our AIDA 2* Freediver Complete Course. This is a full day course where you will receive your full certificate, access to the club with weekly pool sessions and an opportunity to join us on trips abroad.
However if you would like to take things a little slower we have the pool and open water courses to choose from!
You can start from the age of 16 with parental consent and supervision.
Are there any additional fees?
Dive site entries are not included in the price as we may need to change venue from time to time and the price is subject to change.
The Aida 2* Pool Freediver there is an additional £20 if you would like to receive certification.
Do not worry we will provide all the necessary equipment.
You must never freedive alone and always have a buddy. This is for your own safety. This is why joining our club is a great opportunity to meet like minded people.
